What we're doing now ...

Sweet Home High School Class of 1984

Dan and I have been living on a small farm in Scio for the last 7 years.  We just spent all of the last year building a house on the property.  We have a 5 year old son named Colby.   I have been working as a massage therapist for 15 years.  I have an office in Salem and Stayton.  I also coach track at McNary High School.   We spend most of our free time either working on the farm or hiking and camping.

My favorite high school memory is hard to narrow down to only one.  The AP Biology trip to California is at the top of the list.  Although the small memories are right up there..... the lunch trips to A&W in Nancy's car... the attempted  removal of a "stray" hair off George Wenzel's jacket (Connie & Susan)....  James setting thing on fire in Mrs. Muntz's class...  Mr. Schollmeyer throwing chalk at our freshman english class...  too many more to list.

Thanks to all that are working to get this reunion set up.   It will be great to see everyone again.

Wow!  Has it been 20 years since Nicholson and I mooned the school on our last day?  I think Dean was the 19 and I was the 84.  If memory serves me right, Connie was involved in the painting part of that!

I am currently working as an electrician.  I work mostly in commercial, and get to travel to different job sites, which I enjoy.  It doesnt require going to the same place everyday.  I live in the McKenzie River Valley with my wife Summer.  I met her in late 1998 and wasted no time in proposing.  We were married shortly after and it was the perfect day.  My daughter Kristen is 19 and living on her own in Jacksonville, Florida.  My son Reno is 12 and also lives in Florida while spending summer vacation, and visits in between, with us in Oregon.  He teaches me computers and I teach him how to catch steelhead - it is a fair trade off.  In our free time we enjoy snow

skiing/boarding, riding 4-wheelers at the dunes, white water rafting, Oregon Duck basketball, and racing cars.  Well, I do the driving and Summer heads up the cheering section.  Believe it or not, it is safer for everyone involved that way.  Oh yeah and we have two yellow labs, Bonnie and Clyde.  I have been truly blessed and am looking forward to the next 20 years.

Since our last reunion in 1994, there have been many changes in my life. I started a new career with Albany Lebanon Sanitation in March of 94. I just recently received a new position within ALS and will really enjoy my job now. My kids are growing like weeds. Our oldest Josh is 13 and lives, sleeps, breathes for sports; especially football. He just passed his Dad up in height and wears a size 15 football cleat! He plays running back for SHJH. Josh is a die-hard “Beaver believer” and the thrill of his summer was attending Oregon State University’s Football Camp. (even though Dad is a Duck fan!) Jake is 12 and graduated from grade school! He is our soccer star and is a great defender. He is a true animal lover and plans to be a vet someday. My princess Emili was only 8 days old at the last reunion. She will hit her double digit 10th birthday in August. She is a go-getter and such an athlete. She pitches for her softball team and is very competitive. She has a girly side as well and I see more glitter around the house than I am sure is normal! Barbi is graduating from Western Oregon University this fall with a degree in Elementary Education. She is finishing up her student teaching and is looking forward to becoming a teacher. We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary this year and our family loves to spend time camping, boating, fishing, sports and being together. A favorite past time is watching the Oregon Ducks play in Autzen. - Monte Riggs
After high school I attended Azusa Pacific University, received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree in 1988. My first RN job was at Children's Hospital in LA in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I was married in 1987 to a wonderful man with aspirations to be an Olympic Decathlete. He was in the 1988 and 1992 Olympics in the Decathlon and received a bronze medal in 1992. He currently is a teacher and head track coach at West Albany High School.

I've worked as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse for many years, I also taught nursing school in the BSN program at Azusa Pacific University. In 1997 I received a Master's of Science in Nursing Degree from Azusa Pacific University. Currently work as the Women's Center manager in Albany Oregon. We have 3 children - Alexandra 11, Makenzie 9, and Gabriel 1. We like to attend the children's events, travel and go camping in our trailer.

Many memories - selling buttons with Susan Wooley and falling in front of Mr. Neiman, laughing at Lennie Turnbull's jokes, decorating the halls with Lori, Kathleen, Shelly, Susan, Connie and others for events, helping to plan our graduation funeral, our High School all night party, my mother working at the high school. (there's so many I can't think of them all). - Sheri Jordan Johnson
